WELCOME TO SPARTACUS 2000 REP SOCCER TEAM OFFICIAL WEBSITE!

WHAT IS REP SOCCER?

"Rep" is short for Representative. Rep or "competitive" teams are the Club's best players of a given age group, and represent Spartacus in League, Cup and tournament competition against the best of other clubs.

SAME GAME... DIFFERENT WORLDS

The game's the same, but environments for recreational and rep soccer are very different. Rep is for committed players and parents. Coaching programs run year 'round, outdoor and indoor, and Rep teams play in outdoor and indoor leagues.

Long experience working with other youth soccer clubs has convinced us that qualified coaching is essential to creating a child-friendly environment.

We do not use "volunteer dads" as coaches.

All Spartacus coaches, house league and Rep, are paid members of our staff, and we support them in their pursuit of self-development and in acquiring qualifications under CSA/OSA coach certification programs.

Most of our Rep coaches are ex-professional or semi-pro players, with many years' coaching experience and high-level coaching certification from Europe and/or the CSA.

Good coaches are hard to find, and we welcome enquiries from individuals interested in working in a coaching-driven environment.

Rep teams practice more often, and players are expected to maintain good learning habits and high standards of attendance and punctuality. Rep soccer is "serious fun", and competitive intensity increases as players grow older.

For a 9-year-old player and his parents, the future is too far off to contemplate. Yet, nine years later, he could be playing for Ontario in the Canada Games, or receiving offers of college scholarships, or perhaps joining the many Canadians playing professionally at home and overseas.

We encourage you to read the wonderful stories about maybe the future soccer stars:
Youngster, 14, determined to make it to pro soccer...
Should we take 9 years old players seriously?

Whatever his dreams and achievements, a young man who spends his youth in soccer will approach adulthood with many valuable lessons learned of self and team discipline, fair play, friendship, and striving to be the best he can be.

Please feel free to contact our head coach or manager of the club if you need more information or you would like to come with your child for tryout game.
